High-quality antigens for production of IVD diagnostic kits

Protean produces antigens from wild-type Borrelia strains for the development of a new generation of IVD tests for Lyme disease diagnostics. The company is focused on the development of rapid in vitro evolution technology for the production of high affinity protein binders.
Isothermal Amplification technology for pathogen detection and DNA/RNA sequences
Protean’s proprietary isothermal amplification technology (LAMP/RT-LAMP) for simple detection of various pathogens and specific DNA and RNA sequences, benefits from in-house production of amplification enzymes BstI DNA polymerase and ProRT Reverse Transcriptase and is fully compliant with CE IVD certification standards.
The novel isothermal amplification technology offers major advantages for laboratories, including faster results and sizable cost reduction over traditional PCR assays whilst providing the same sensitivity and specificity. The patent application has been filed in September 2020.
The company’s new AUMED test kit RT-LAMP Assay SARS-CoV2 is developed for diagnostics of SARS-CoV-2 virus in isolated viral RNA samples. The test can also detect primary samples without RNA isolation.
