Cetrimide Agar for Pseudomonas aeruginosa Testing
Cetrimide Agar 90 mm CS — Item 450.0060
PMM Cetrimide Agar is intended for use in the examination of non-sterile products and testing for Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the pharmaceutical industry.
The specified application involves preparation of the product sample, enrichment in Tryptic Soy Broth (TSB), followed by subculture onto Cetrimide Agar. After incubation, the growth of colonies indicates the presence of P. aeruginosa. Where colonies are detected, an identification test is required to establish the presence or absence of P. aeruginosa.
Application: Test for Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Format: 90 mm CS plate
Pack size: 60 plates
Item: 450.0060
Burkholderia cepacia Complex Selective Agar
BCSSA 90 mm CS — Item 451.0060
PMM Burkholderia cepacia Complex Selective Agar is intended for the examination of non-sterile products and testing for Burkholderia cepacia complex.
The specified application includes sample preparation followed by incubation in Soybean–Casein Digest Broth or an appropriate dilution determined during method suitability. The sample is subsequently subcultured onto Burkholderia cepacia Complex Selective Agar. Growth of colonies indicates the presence of B. cepacia complex, with identification testing required to confirm any detected growth.
Application: Test for Burkholderia cepacia complex
Format: 90 mm CS plate
Pack size: 60 plates
Article: 451.0060
Mannitol Salt Agar for Staphylococcus aureus Testing
Mannitol Salt Agar 90 mm CS — Item 455.0060
PMM Mannitol Salt Agar is designed for the examination of non-sterile products and testing for Staphylococcus aureus.
Following sample preparation and enrichment in Tryptic Soy Broth, an aliquot is subcultured onto Mannitol Salt Agar. Colonies surrounded by a yellow/white zone indicate the presence of S. aureus. Where such colonies are detected, an identification test is required to establish the presence or absence of S. aureus.
Application: Test for Staphylococcus aureus
Format: 90 mm CS plate
Pack size: 60 plates
Item: 455.0060
MacConkey Agar for Escherichia coli Testing
MacConkey Agar 90 mm CS — Item 460.0060
PMM MacConkey Agar is intended for the examination of non-sterile products and testing for Escherichia coli.
The specified application includes sample preparation, enrichment in TSB, transfer to MacConkey Broth, and subsequent subculture onto MacConkey Agar. Growth of colonies indicates the presence of E. coli. Any detected colonies require identification testing to establish the presence or absence of E. coli.
Application: Test for Escherichia coli
Format: 90 mm CS plate
Pack size: 60 plates
Item: 460.0060
VRBD Agar for Bile-Tolerant Gram-Negative Bacteria
VRBD Agar 90 mm CS — Item 465.0060
PMM VRBD Agar is intended for the examination of non-sterile products and testing for bile-tolerant Gram-negative bacteria.
The specified application includes sample preparation and incubation in Tryptic Soy Broth, followed by transfer to Mossel Broth. An aliquot is subsequently subcultured onto VRBD Agar. Growth of colonies indicates the presence of bile-tolerant Gram-negative bacteria.
Application: Test for bile-tolerant Gram-negative bacteria
Format: 90 mm CS plate
Pack size: 60 plates
Item: 465.0060
XLD Agar for Salmonella spp. Testing
XLD Agar 90 mm CS — Item 470.0060
PMM XLD Agar is intended for the examination of non-sterile products and testing for Salmonella spp.
The specified application involves sample preparation and enrichment in Tryptic Soy Broth, followed by transfer to Rappaport-Vassiliadis Broth. An aliquot is then subcultured onto XLD Agar. Growth of reddish or red colonies, with or without a black centre, indicates the presence of Salmonella. Where such colonies are detected, an identification test is required to establish the presence or absence of Salmonella.
Application: Test for Salmonella spp.
Format: 90 mm CS plate
Pack size: 60 plates
Item: 470.0060
R2A Agar for Pharmaceutical Water Microbiology
R2A Agar 90 mm CS — Item 490.0060

Plate Design for Practical Laboratory Handling
PMM selective media plates incorporate a locking lid system with two positions to support different incubation requirements.
The closed position provides ideal incubation conditions for aerobic microorganisms, thereby limiting agar dehydration. For longer aerobic incubation periods, the closed position is recommended. The vent position is ideal for anaerobic incubations, as it allows an easy and effective removal of oxygen under anaerobic incubation conditions. This position should be used for incubation in anaerobic incubator or anaerobic jar.
Certificate of Analysis for Every Batch
Every batch of PMM products can be obtained with a Certificate of Analysis (CoA).
Batch-specific documentation provides customers with access to product information associated with the individual batch and supports the documentation requirements of laboratory, industrial, research, and pharmaceutical workflows.
