Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus Reverse Transcriptase (M-MLV RT)
Protean offers Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus Reverse Transcriptase (M-MLV RT) enzyme isolated from Escherichia coli.
The M-MLV RT by Protean is ideal for most PCR-based amplification and detection methods.
Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus Reverse Transcriptase (M-MLV RT)
The Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus encoded sequence of reverse transcriptase is optimized in silico and produced in E.coli strain. M-MLV RT is a highly active recombinant enzyme with increased thermal stability.
Most PCR-based amplification and detection methods require reverse transcription as a crucial first step in the analysis of RNA. The RNAse H-minus fragment of reverse transcriptase is suitable for all molecular techniques that need dependable reverse transcriptase activity, including RT-PCR, RT-qPCR and RT-LAMP assays.
Thermostable reverse transcriptase
The capacity of a reverse transcriptase to endure high temperatures is a key aspect of cDNA synthesis. Retroviral-derived reverse transcriptases are frequently not adequately thermostable to catalyze synthesis at temperatures high enough for the efficient conversion of RNAs that form stable secondary structures and double-stranded RNA targets.
The high thermal stability of the Protean M-MLV RT enzyme enables coupled reverse transcription at elevated temperatures of up to 60°C (140°F). This results in increased sensitivity and specificity of various detection techniques. The concentration of the M-MLV RT is 200 U/ul.
In comparison with Avian Myeloblastosis Virus (AMV) Reverse Transcriptase, Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus Reverse Transcriptase (M-MLV RT) has low DNA endonuclease activity and RNase H activity.
