ULTRAMIC® Advanced Ceramic Heaters
ULTRAMIC® ceramic heaters from Watlow® are engineered for thermal applications where the high performance of advanced ceramic heaters is required to ensure the maximum efficiency of the equipment and process.
AIN Ceramic Heaters – A Clean, Non-contaminating Heat Source
Made of aluminium nitride (AlN) and incorporating a thermally matched patented heating element which delivers optimal performance in challenging applications. AlN is particularly ideal for applications requiring a clean, non-contaminating heat source. In addition, excellent geometric stability guarantees continuous part-to-part thermal contact during heating cycles.
AlN Ceramic Heaters Can Operate up to 400°C (752°F)
The aluminium nitride ceramic heaters work up to 400°C (752°F) with a blazing-fast ramp rate of up to 150° C (270°F) per second depending on the usage, design of the heater and the process parameters. In addition, Watlow’s ULTRAMIC ceramic heaters typically provide better chemical resistance compared to traditional metal heaters due to their high electrical isolation.
Ceramic Heaters for Improved Analytical Equipment Design
Advanced ceramic heaters also deliver a range of benefits when it comes to the design and commercialization of analytical equipment.
The ULTRAMIC® advanced ceramic heaters from Watlow can help manufacturers of analytical equipment improve product performance and design, as well as speed up their time to the market.
Accelerating Cancer Screening with Advanced Ceramic Heater and Controller Integration into IHC Machines
Watlow’s ULTRAMIC® advanced ceramic heater and EZ-ZONE® RM controller significantly improved the speed of cancer screening. The technology was integrated into an immunohistochemistry (IHC) machine, which traditionally took several days to produce results. With the new system, the machine can now generate lab results in just one hour. This rapid turnaround allows doctors to make immediate decisions during surgery, potentially avoiding the need for additional procedures and reducing patient anxiety.
