NADPH Tetrasodium Salt (β-Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate reduced tetrasodium salt), is a reducing agent for biochemical assays. NADPH is a ubiquitous coenzyme and biological reducing agent functioning as an electron donor in numerous reactions utilizing dehydrogenase and reductase enzymes. Purity is ≥95% NADPH Tetrasodium Salt 

NADPH Applications

NADPH provides the reducing equivalents for biosynthetic reactions and the oxidation-reduction involved in protecting against the toxicity of reactive oxygen species (ROS), enabling the regeneration of reduced glutathione (GSH). NADPH is further used for anabolic pathways, such as lipid synthesis, cholesterol synthesis, and fatty acid chain elongation.

In immune cells, NADPH is also responsible for the development of free radicals, used to destroy pathogens in a process termed the respiratory burst (or oxidative burst). It is the source of reducing equivalents for cytochrome P450 hydroxylation of aromatic compounds, steroids, alcohols, and drugs.
