Tailor-made monoclonal & polyclonal antibodies

Synaptic Systems offers tailor-made monoclonal and polyclonal primary antibodies for your scientific needs, all developed, produced and validated in-house to guarantee best quality and reliability. The company has a broad host species panel – mouse, rat, rabbit, guinea-pig and chicken – and its novel recombinant monoclonal antibody product section enables multiform multiplexing applications.

In addition, Synaptic Systems offers a custom monoclonal antibody service, supporting your antibody projects with its longstanding know-how in antibody development and its in-house scientific expertise.

Excellent antibodies for histopathology

The HistoSure antibody product line is dedicated to pre-clinical and clinical research based on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue specimens. HistoSure antibodies are screened from scratch in FFPE tissues, thereby selecting the best antibodies for histopathological applications. Specificity and sensitivity of the antibodies is extensively tested in numerous applications (e.g. Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry) and reviewed by external experts in the field.

Antibodies for human – mouse chimeric xenografts

The company’s research and development efforts are powered by current needs in pre-clinical and clinical research. Human-mouse chimeric xenografts referred to as “humanized mice” are increasingly important, unique tools for the study of human diseases. The HistoSure xenograft antibody pipeline aims to overcome the technical barrier of distinguishing human from mouse cells in a mixed background.

HistoSure species-specific xenograft antibodies are either reactive to mouse- or to human proteins with no cross-reactivity to the opposite species.

Antibodies for mouse histopathology

HistoSure mouse histopathology antibodies are targeted against rodent proteins and specifically selected for excellent performance in murine tissues. In cooperation with external collaborators Synaptic Systems aims at evaluating HistoSure mouse histopathology antibodies in a broad spectrum of murine tissues and for diverse scientific research questions. Syngeneic mouse models – powerful tools for testing immunotherapies – are in special focus of the HistoSure mouse histopathology pipeline.

Antibodies for human histopathology

HistoSure human histopathology antibodies are developed in close collaboration with pathologists for niche applications in human pathology or rare diseases, not addressed by main life science company competitors. Specificity of antibody staining is verified by pathologists or experts in the field. Whenever possible accuracy is tested in broader clinical FFPE tissue panels.

About Synaptic Systems

Synaptic Systems was founded in 1997 by renowned scientists of the Max-Planck Institute Goettingen, with a special focus on antibody development for synaptic and neuroscience related proteins.

In 2016, Synaptic Systems enters into close cooperation with NanoTag Biotechnologies GmbH, a developer and supplier of alpaca-derived primary and secondary single domain antibodies.

The HistoSure brand was introduced in 2017, as an extension of the Synaptic Systems product range of antibodies specifically intended for use in FFPE tissues.
