Erythrocytes Red Blood Cells (RBC)

Erythrocytes (RBC): The hemagglutination assay, also known as the haemagglutination assay (HA) and the hemagglutination inhibition assay (HI or HAI) are proven techniques for assessing the approximate quantity of viruses, bacteria, or antibodies. Both, HA and HAI, employ the hemagglutination process, whereby the sialic acid receptors on the surface of red blood cells (RBCs) attach to the hemagglutinin glycoprotein present on the surface of several viruses (e. g. influenza) and form a network of linked RBCs and virus particles. BCE provides fresh RBCs stabilised in Alsever’s solution from different animal species, like chicken, turkey, and sheep.

Biological Sera and Biological Matrices

Normal Serum: This is the clear liquid that remains after blood clots. It contains proteins, electrolytes, hormones, and antibodies. BCE provides normal serum collected and pooled from several individuals of different animal species, such as goat, rabbit, bovine, sheep, chicken, and llama.

Antiserum: This is the serum that contains antibodies against a specific antigen. It is used to detect or neutralise the antigen in a sample. BCE provides antiserum from different animal species, such as goat anti-human ApoE and sheep anti-human IgG.

Biological Matrix: This is the tissue or blood that contains cells, proteins, and other molecules. It is used to study the structure and function of biological systems. BCE provides biological matrices from different animal species, such as PBMCs from llama, cattle, and rabbit, and aqueous humour from rabbits and cattle.
