High functionality excipients
High Functionality Excipients simplify formulation development and improve overall operational costs while preserving the quality expected by the industry.
Excipients that meet the following criteria are considered high functionality excipients (HFEs):
- Multi-functionality, contributing two or more functions to a formulation through a single ingredient.
- High inherent functional performance, allowing larger batch sizes and higher drug loading even at low use levels.
- No complex processing, making them ideal for cost-effective direct compression processes.
- High inherent functional performance that encompasses the overall formulation, unlike other multi-functional excipients or conventional specialty-grade excipients.
Dry and wet state binders for solid dosage forms
Binders, offered in the dry or wet state, join and hold all components of a formulation together to achieve a robust dosage form. JRS PHARMA offers a comprehensive line of binders for developing solid dosage formulations.
Superdisintegrants
Disintegration of solid dosage forms in an aqueous environment allows the active pharmaceutical ingredient to be released. As tableting becomes more advanced, formulators prefer direct compression blends. Thus, a new disintegrant class called superdisintegrants has emerged in the market. Superdisintegrants improve disintegration efficiency and decrease use levels compared to traditional disintegrants.
Tableting lubricants
JRS Pharma offers both a conventional liquid film-lubricant and a high-quality multifunctional boundary lubricant. The liquid film-lubricant can also be used as a sustained-release matrix.
The primary function of lubricants in tableting is to reduce the force required to eject the compressed tablet from the die cavity. Without lubricants, these processes would be difficult or impossible and would result in significantly shorter tooling lifespan. Lubricants also strongly influence tablet hardness, disintegration time, and dissolution.
Functional Tablet Fillers
Functional fillers add bulk to tablets that contain small amounts of API to produce tablets of adequate size and weight for easy ingestion. They can also be used to ensure proper dispersal of ingredients and help deliver a consistent and reliable dosage form.
Thickeners & Stabilisers for liquid dosage forms
Thickeners and stabilizers include gelling agents that stabilize liquid dosage forms, such as suspensions and emulsions. The JRS combination of microcrystalline cellulose and carboxymethylcellulose sodium offers great stability, easy handling, and content uniformity.
VIVAPHARM Povidone Family
In order to serve the unique requirements of our customers in an even more comprehensive way, we are pleased to introduce the latest addition to our portfolio, the Povidone Family.
JRS PHARMA has entered into a joint venture agreement with SSP for the commercialization of povidone products. In order to guarantee the quality and purity of our VIVAPHARM® Povidone products, a significant emphasis has been placed on stringent quality control. In addition to on-site qualityb checks, VIVAPHARM® Povidone products will undergo final quality control and release in the newly established Analytical Competence Center in Germany.
All VIVAPHARM® Povidone products conform to the current Ph.Eur., USP/NF, and JP/JPE standards.
