Molecular Biology Grade Proteinase K Recombinant (Endopeptidase K Tritirachium album serine proteinase)

Recombinat Proteinase K from Tritirachium albumin is a subtilisin-related serine protease. The enzyme is a 28.9kDa protein expressed in Pichia pastori, including DNases and RNAses during nucleic acid prepertaions without compromising the integrity of isolated DNA or RNA. Proteinase K is active in wide range of reaction conditions.

Applications

Due to its broad specificity, Proteinase K is widely used in molecular biology to clean nucleic acid complex samples and to lyse cells. It has been used for isolation of mRNA, high molecular weight DNA and to inactivate other enzymatic activities.

Proteinase K is active under a broad range of reaction conditions, including increased temperatures and the presence of SDS. Therefore, this recombinant enzyme is widely utilised for digestion of proteins, including DNases and RNases, during nucleic acid preparations without compromising the integrity of isolated DNA or RNA.

  • Inactivation of RNases/DNases during nucleic acid extraction

Proteinase K Quality

Proteinase K is free of RNases, DNases and DNA, according to the current quality control procedures. Absence of Nucleases: Each lot is tested on various substrates to ensure the absence of endonuclease, exonuclease, ribonuclease and nicking activity.
